Want
to have fun with slow scan television? All you need is virtually any old
computer and your HF radio. OK, so there's slightly more to it than that.
But, basically, anyone with a computer and an HF radio can at least receive
amazing pics from around the world. And some of them really are amazing...
Here's
a picture I received on 20 metres. This gives you an idea of SSTV. It's
far from boring! No doubt you'll agree that this is somewhat more interesting
than my test card pic at the top of the page. Yeah, well... I mean...
I'm not a bird, am I?
To
receive pics like this via your radio, click HERE
to download the programme from the MMSSTV site. Not only is it brilliant,
but it's free.
Once
you've installed the programme, connect a lead from the speaker socket
on your radio to the microphone socket on your computer, and that's it.
To
transmit TV pictures, connect a lead from the speaker socket on your computer
to the microphone socket on your radio. For full details of constructing
an interface, go to my DATA page.
